The convocation of the Episcopal mission, jurisdiction of Utah and Nevada, opened in St. Marks' cathedral vesterday.Biafaop Leon ardinthe chair. The following delegate are present: . Bishop Leonard delivered his annual addn us. He urged increased iaterest in raising the endowment en-dowment for the Episcopal fund looking to the erection of an independent diocese for Utah and Nevada. The success of this last meant the election of a bishop by the dio-ese dio-ese instead of the territory covered now by what could be a diocese, continuing as a missionary jurisdiction with the presiding bishyp as a missionary bishop, sent by the church in general through the convention, 'ihe following committees were appointed: Ou Missions Rev. It is to be hoped that the organization will not again be allowed to lapse for waut of a little energy. The loiians Entertain. The Iowans entertained last evening. Pro pressive eucher aud dancing were the diversions. diver-sions. The first ladies prize was won by Miss Spatford, it souvenir spoon, the booby by Mrs. M. K. Parsons, a silver button hook. The gentleman's first, a silver case with deck of cards. Judge Howard. The booby, a drum, was awarded Mr. Spafford. A Scottish Entertaiuiuent. The Young Men's Christian Association Ladies' auxiliary will give a Scottish entertainment enter-tainment and general social at the rooms of the association, at 03 East Second South, this ( vening at 0 o'clock. An admission fee of 25 cents will be charged. New Postmasters. Postmasters appointed in Utah: April 14th, Castle Gate, Emery county, Harry J, World; April 15th, Thompson, Grand couuty, Bert A. Terwilliger. A Marriage Announcement. The marriage of Mr. J. C. Taylor and Miss Nellie Lett will occur on Tuesday evening, even-ing, the 20th. Satt Lake Clearing House.
