The Convention to Assemtilo at Noon Will Amly Hurt lake tho Marshal?' --The Si);u)l!-:uie- ol .lolin M. Vnun's Position i'olltlcal .Notes. Tlic democratic delegates will assemble iu convention at hitrh noon tomorrow for the purpose of nominating a city ticket, includ- - :o' mayor, etc. There is very little interest i:i results, which seem to have uccu leftunou their own resources and to paddle their own cafioe. No one seems to be nmk- - lag a riotous struggle for any place on the ticket. Or. the contrary, the leaders are de-moralized, the rank and tile have gone all to piece-- , and the Umber betrays the fact that u nomination simply means to east itself before the woodman. There is now considerable speculution concerning the probable action of the con- - rentlon in the selection of a candidate for marshal. The friend, and constituent, of Slieriii! Burt state positively that under no consideration will he accept the nomina-tion. Are the friends of Sheriff Burt confident 'of their figure.! True, he has a aiucciire now that pay. him abORt 18000 a year and were the "election bill" uow experiencing a period ! suspended animation over in toe executive chamber to become a law, the perqut.itet of the ofdee would be still fur-ther increased. Again it is .aid that the nomination will be tendered. John M- Youuir. but then there arises the question: "Will John M. and Andy iro before the political altar and kissinu; make Up?" Polities have dictated stronger alliances and performed stronger mirieles. Marnlial i'iuiiff rVlthdraws. ' 'F.re's yer mornin' ' Enild," caroled an urchin at i o'clock this inorninfr. "Aller'bout John M. Young turnln' dhnmecrat." "Another man disaffected," muttered the customer, as he folded up his paper and .chocked it iu the pocket ol Ins overcoat. "Are you Correctly reported in the Lord's (inn;" asked a reporter of Marshal l'oung a few hour, later. "That's where 1 am standiug," replied Mr. Young. "I li ve taken this step after ma-- I lure deliberation. I have done it according to the dictates of my own Judgment and In the future you'll lind me lightiug for democ-racy " "But the Btrald insinuates that you left 111 you believed it time to make the war on party Hues and in-timates that you favor the measures uow be- - fore congress V" "All of which is eminently wrong. I am oppoted to the Faulkner bill." Political Notes. The republican, will hoist their city ticket on Monday next and the triangular battle will have begun iu earnest. It is estimated that there were over 30(K) persons in the pavilion last night when ihe nomination for city marshal was announced. The democrats assemble in convention at high noon tomorrow. There is not much lobbying in the woods at this time, and Wherever the mantle fails, it will be ae. copied under mental protest Thu republican precinct conventions will be held in the various precincts this even-ing for the purpose of naming candidates for the council and justice of tbe pence. The place, of meeting may be seen under Tin: XIX K. bulletin. I! was .lodge Wainpler who announced the Withdrawn! of John lit. Young's name from the convention at last night's session, but the voice of the high-price- d tennor failed (0 convey that the marchrt! had experienced a J 'change in conditions." The liberal, county conucntion will bo called to order at noon tomorrow and pro-ceed at once to the selection of delegates to the territorial convention, which meets at Walker pavilion on Thursday next. The convention will also adopt a set of resolu-tions and take such furthor steps as are necessary at this time to promote the wel-fare of county liberalism. five thousand liberals will gather at Walker pavilion tonight to ratify and ap-prove the nominations made by the liberal convention yesterday. Many prominent liberals have itgnifiea a desire to tlx their approval to the work of the convention and the meeting will doubtless be the largest that has taken place thus far in the cam-paign. Tii is is to be followed by the meeting of tin- Tu.raniraa on Monday night next at Which time the tfibe will proceed to ratify the nomination.. With the nominations of the liberal party the Tusearoras are Iu In arty and active svmpathy and all mem-bers of the society are requested to meet nt T o'clock at the Walker house from which place the Will repair to Walker pavilion. with a pocket full of cartridge.
