Three bombardments were made during dur-ing the month aud each was followed by a heavy rain, tho district experiencing experien-cing greater precipitation than it had known for a long time. The reader is impressed with the idea that the experiments ex-periments were a great success. 11 not ouly rained immediately after each bombardment, but the rains were soaking, soak-ing, as much as two inches of water being precipitated at one timo. The general's subsequent experiments at El Paso are reported to have been failures, fail-ures, but it will be interesting to see bis own report concerning them. In view of the general interest in the subject, sub-ject, the article referred to will be widely read, and it will give .rise to a desire to have the bombarding method more thoroughly tried. ) |
