Show Tub Chilean government seems inclined in-clined to harraas Minister Fajan with a view of driving him out of the country. It has been xhown that Kgan has done bis duty impartially, and it is notiikelv that this government will submit to any bulldozing tactics ou the part of the successful revolutionists. The minister is accused of having been a partisan on the side of Balmaceda, but the real grievance is that he did not take sides against the ex president. He followed just the right course, as nearly as can be learned; but in auy event the con-gressionalists con-gressionalists should be given to understand un-derstand that no nonsense on their part will be tolerated. The reports regarding regard-ing their action toward the American minister suggest that a situation is likely to be prtcipitated under which it will be desirable for this government to give a practieal demonstration of its determination to enforce proper respect for itself everywhere. |
