These invite tiie tourist to spend days, weeks or months among their wild recesses to fish, to hunt, to scale the peaks and ridges, and to gather wild flowers by the moasy springs, beneath the shade of umbrageous pines. Big Cottonwood canon should lie seen by every tourist. Here are lake Mary aud Mai'lha from which flows the turbulent Coitonwood river; and at the baso of the mountains are lakes Blanche. Klorence and Lilian. Besides these aro Mills creek, Parley's Emigration, and City Creek canons, all extremely picturesque aud delightfully toman tlo. Pl.iuant Drives abound in scores around the outskirts of the city; along tiie quiet .country roads, and through the lanes dividing meadows of rich green alfalfa and fields of grain; while the majestic, niounlains are never entirely lost sight of.
