A royal foretaste of America's weleomu to the World's fair iu P-'i'l was given last night at the J'almer house, when the grand banquet tendered to tho visiting commissioners, was attended by nearly three hundred of the city's most eminent business and professional men. The commissioners have been in Chicago about ten days investigating the plans and prospects of the World's fair, and banquets have been tendered them on every hand, but last night's grand liualu eclipsed all its predecessors. I'resideiit Hakcr of the World's fair directory presided at the feast, and at the tab.e with him were Sir Henry Woo. I and Mr. .James Dredge, representing repre-senting Great liritian; Ilerr Wermnth, imperial commissioner from (jermany. Dr. Kmil (ieyor, royal commissioner from Denmark, the Chicago ollicials who recently traveled abroad in the interest in-terest of the exposition, and the speakers speak-ers of tho evening.
