Sidney Dillon, president of the Union Pacific railroad, has returned from an exteuded trip over the line aud reported to tho directors di-rectors the result of bis observations. Mr. Dillon said iu conversation that he fouud tho track in good condition. There were, however, all along the line, broken cars, mostly freight cars, and broken engines. This was evidence evi-dence of great negligence and shiftless-ness shiftless-ness somewhere. Mr. Dillon said two months would be required for tho repairs, re-pairs, which have begun. Probably about $'00,Oi.O will be the outlay in putting put-ting the roliiug stock in order and the road will be iu good trim iu September. |
