Show The Kpring Konad Skirt. New York Kvenini; Post. As a rule the spring round skirt has few ornaments, and whim made on plaid fabrics none whatever are used. What variety is needed is given by varying va-rying the arrangement of the plaid in cutting. The whole gown may be bias or only part of it, as the skitt front bias aud the back breadths straight or bias and pleated all around. Some simple but elegant looking spring dresses from a Paris house are made w ith plaided or shaded stripes, with which are to be worn a Louis (Jinne coat, with long basques, made of plain cloth, matching one of tho most prominent colors in the plaid. Some of the striped skirts are so cut that the stripes form deep Vs on the front and aro bias at the back. A trimming which is still much used for plain and figured fabrics, particularly those of light weight, is the reversed hem. The lower edge of the skirt is turned up on the right side aud covered with a band of dilTereut colors from the dress, but matching the figure or accessories. acces-sories. If the skirt is opened at the side tho hem appears at all the edges, and if there is a semblance of an underskirt under-skirt it may bo of the color of tho band on tho hem, which is often elaborated with guipure or passementerie, straight edge down and points up. |
