Show BRIEF CITY NEWS ITEMS. A mixing of wires caused a false alarm of fire at No. 243 South Alain yesterday afternoon. Work is to be commenced at once on tho wall which joins the Northern Spy and Crasa near Silver City. Captain J. W. Grecnman has been appointed deputy registrar in the Fourth precinct, vice Judge Hoge, declined. de-clined. The chemical engine extinguished a fire in the cellar of a grocery store at Third South and First Fast streets last evening. The excursionists of the Golden Gate tour saw the sights of the city this morning, and left on the Rio Grande Western for Colorado Springs this afternoon. John W.
