Show Kx ri;KSinKNT Clevkland has again appeared in public, having addressed a club dinner in New York last evening. He seems to have been stirred by a sense of danger. This feeling was certainly cer-tainly not out of place with him. While he may feel assured of the nomination nomi-nation he cannot fail to observe that the battle at the polls promises to be a very hard one for him. His bitterness against silver weakens him in some sections, while the practical results flowing from tho operations of the new tariff law are rapidly wiping out the theories of which lie has hitherto been the leading exponent. |
