Nrw Y'ouk, April 2.r). Two men are under arrest for connection with the murder of Carrie Brown in a hotel Thursday night. A pair of trousers' supposed to belong to either 'Frenchy" or the ptherman arrested were brought to the station this morning. Tho spots on them may be blood stains. They answer the description of the trousers worn by the woman's slayer and wero found in a Bowery lodging house, where they had been left yesterday morning. The man who left them, it is known, frequented the Fast river hotel where the murder occurred. The murdered woman could not have been much under 00 years of age. Her hair was almost white, and her features stamped with marks of drunkenness aud the gutter. She was a topical specimen of a woman of the slums. '1 lie man. according to tho clerk of tho establishment, was apparently not over U years of age. In build he was light and of medium bight, with light complexion, com-plexion, small, blonde mustache and blonde hair, lie did not utter a word in the hearing of any people about the hotel, and the murder must have been a noiseless one, as the other rooms on the same floor wero occupied, and a whisper could almost bo heard through the partitions. |
