Show Buprrilcial Judgment of Mm. In our judgment of men we are to Ke-ware Ke-ware of giving any great importance to oeeawional acts. By acts of occasional generosity weak men endeavor to redeem re-deem themselves in their own estimation; estima-tion; vain men to exalt themselves in that of mankind. It may be observed that there aro no men more worthless and selfish, in the general tenor of their lives, than some who, from time to time, perform feats of generosity. Sentimental selfishness will commonly vary its indulgences in-dulgences in tliis way, and vainglorious sellibhness will break out into acts of munificence.
