Show A llllnil Mun'a Hnlchle. De Soto, Mo, July 17. Phillip Schmidt of this city committed suicide this morning by shooting himself through the head with a revolver. Death resulted in a few miuules after the firing of the shot. The deceased was a veteran of the late war, and was in receipt of a pension of $7 per month for total disability, his eyesight being gone. Ho suffered untold agonies from neuralgia, and it is supposed that while suffering this morning he took his life. He leaves a widow to mourn his loss. In a ClatHrn. Macon, Mo.. July 17. Mm. F. J. Fox, w ife of the telegraph operator at Caliao, nine miles went of this city, drowned herself by jumping into a cistern cis-tern yesterday morning. She was ill with typhoid fever, anil at a moment when she was not watched rushed out of the room and into the cistern. She leaves several small children. |
