Show CAVE HIMSELF UP- . An Old Tnuady Bevlvad by the Surrender -of One or Ita Principal. Joseph McMurrin, who was shot by Deputy Marshal Collins in 1885, while the latter was emerging from Social Hall alley, surrendered himself yesterday yester-day to the United States marshal and was taken before Judge Zane to answer an indictment charging him with assault as-sault with intent to commit murder. His bond was fixed at $500, which was furnished before Commissioner Green-man. Green-man. The alleged offense on which McMurrin is held is an old one. It was on the night in question that Deputy Collins was assailed by three persons, whereupon he fired through his overcoat over-coat pocket and McMurrin fell to the earth with two bullet holes in his body. McMurrin laid in a very critical condition condi-tion for some time and thon disap- E eared, since which time he has not een risible. In the meantime, Collins is in California, where be is engaged in business. |
