The reception promises to be ono of the grandest affairs in tho history of tho club. It will bo for members only and the guests of General Sherman, biit the guests invited include President Harrison Harri-son and his cabinet, distinguished senators sena-tors and congressmen ami other notables. nota-bles. When General Sherman was lirst informed in-formed of tho proposed reception he suggested a postponement until next year to encourage him, he Maid, to worry through this vale of tears for another an-other year. On learning that the club would not consent to such a long postponement, post-ponement, the veteran remarked that the decision was perhaps a wise ono, as he might receive orders to quit the licld before another year had fled. |
