Show Two Minute Sermon By Thomas Hastwell FOOLING THE TEACHER When I was a small boy in school I recall that on occasions when I became tired or my interest lag lag- lagged lagged lagged ged because of some difficult prOD problem lem lam in arithmetic or question in la grammar I would resort to various types of mischief such as whisper- whisper ing writing notes or drawing pictures pic pic- pictures pictures tures of the teacher I 1 recall L used to think that I got away with a great deal of it and that the teacher never suspected but that I was a studious little boy and had my mind on anything else except the lesson I know now that I did not deceive my teacher very often She knew most of the time what was going on behind my book the same as she knew what was going on behind the books of the other boys and girls in the class I know now that the reason we were not called up oftener was not because the teacher didn't know Ive I've though a good many times since that adults try the same things thin that we as children tried They Their think because no one calls calms them therm themI I down that no one knows of their misdeeds but like our teacher for lor- forty forty lorI ty years ago people know what is I going on They didn't deceive their their- teachers as children in school and they are not deceiving any anyone one now There isn't a twig or a branch oT or a. a r holly growing in Hollywood |
