Show UTAH NEVADA COPPER CO the mining review enjoyed a visit adew a few days ago from W M ingersoll of denver secretary of the Utah Nevada copper company whose valuable properties are located at the head of keg springs canyon five m miles iles west of green river in emery county utah in this locality the company has a group of eighteen claims on which available for shipment at any time there are at least tons of ore ready for shipment and the market that will average 20 per cent copper 4 ounces silver and 8 in gold to the ton this ore as soon as the company is ready to handle it will be hauled to the river by wagon and then shipped to green river station on the rio grande railroad from which point it will be billed to the salt lake smelters shelters sm elters the river haul is a distance of about forty miles and it is expected that shipments will begin about july 1st ast and the output will be regular as the mining consists of but little more than quarrying mr ingersoll is sending in supplies from salt lake as this is the most convenient business center for his company and he informs the mining review that the power capacity of the boat wilmot is being increased crea sed the equipment to include heavier engines with link belt gear so that fifteen tons of ore 0 re can be hauled at each trip in the tow barge turtle ordinarily one trip can be made daily plans plan s for the future operation of the companas comp anys property which is under the management of that veteran and able mining man E T wolverton include an electric power plant aerial tramway from mine to river and other improvements and equipment in ent for economical and profitable operation the company has in hand an enterprise of both magnitude and importance of copper ore of shipping grade it has a great abundance the economical marketing of the same being the problem that has confronted the management but this evidently will soon be satisfactorily solved and it will only be a matter of time doubtless before the company will be on a self sustaining basis with money in its treasury for dividend paying purposes |
