the ore body and with the growing demand for this character of ore the ground may soon become productive bingham bulletin after an absence of nearly six months nick treloar superintendent of the yampa mine returned to bingham last week and took up his work again mr treloar who is one of the most popular men in this camp was stricken with typhoid pneumonia last fall and lay for six weeks in a salt lake hospital hovering between life and death for the past few months he has been recuperating in british columbia mr treloar is now able to carry on the work at the carr fork properties park record W B andrew a mining broker and operator of salt lake spent a couple of days in camp this week the gentleman visited the creole in which he is interested where the workmen are driving for the level contact the progress being made is necessarily somewhat slow on account of the almost solid rock formation through which the operators have been obliged to work within the next seventy five feet it is expected that an ore body will be encountered and a big one is anticipated mr andrews also inspected the jupiter during his visit here and was surprised and pleased to note the big ore bodies being worked in there wasatch chase I latch hatch and peter johnson returned from the mining companas comp anys property on the reservation this week and reported that the property is look 0 ing exceedingly well there was a report circulated here that the ore in their copped copper mines was only on the top and did not extend to any depth this is denied by latch hatch I and johnson they say that the ore goes to sufficient depth in the mine and that it if is very rich in copper mr hatch says ays he believes it will be one of the greatest copper mines in the state of utah the company intends putting up reduction works and put on a large force of men at once as they believe they have a good thing richfield sun R W foster manager of the sevier mine and mill on gold mountain came down from the hill yesterday covering the miles between kimberly and richfield on horseback this morning he journeyed to salt lake city to remain a week or ten days and to meet president seymour W tulloch who will arrive here from wash ington next week to return to gold mountain with mr foster manager foster informed a sun reporter that the new mill is a bird the machinery is working smoothly and is satisfying every expectation two of the three batteries are at work about one hundred tons of ore are being put through per day A force of sixty men is at work in the mine the mill is not yet being run to its full capacity within another month it will be giving an account of itself park record manager C L rood of the ontario returned to the city wednesday after a two days visit in camp tuesday afternoon he visited the new york bonanza where the showing highly pleased him regarding the tunnel mr rood stated that good progress was being made notwithstanding the fact that the ground now being worked in is somewhat soft mr rood said that the reports sent out regarding the Nail driver were somewhat premature thought the company intends resuming operations in the near future as soon in fact as the roads will permit of the hauling of coal recent developments at the new york and vicinity have been such as to renew confidence in surrounding properties sinking and general prose will be in order when work is resumed at the Nail driver bingham bulletin the butler liberal which just recently began shipping is showing up some very fine streaks of ore which more than exceeded the expectations of the management A few days ago one foot and a half of second class ore was struck on the lower jacobs tunnel the vein extends for a considerable distance and the ore is of an exceptionally good quality work is being pushed and the management expects to make large shipments from now on A car of first class ore was shipped the first of the week and another car will be sent out tomorrow enough first class ore is in sight to warrant the shipping of two carloads weekly while much time and labor is being devoted towards the shipping of ore still the development work contin continues ties to go under the supervision of george W tinsman everything ery thing is said to be encouraging and the butler liberal is expected to give some surprises in the near future richfield sun L H returned to richfield last thursday afternoon after six weeks absence in st louis and chicago in the interest of the annie laurie extension mining company on gold mountain of which company he is the president mr was in the sun office on monday he said that he had had an enjoyable trip notwithstanding that much disagreeable disagree agle weather had interfered with some of his plans eastern people seemed to be greatly interested in utah and gave willing ear to a recounting of its mining possibilities mr lutzens Out zens especial mission was to find purchasers for annie laurie extension stock he met with very flattering success referring to present conditions at the mine mr said that he had nothing in parti particular culat to report work had been moving along ably all winter and there had been no sensational with the awakening of spring work will be still more extensively prosecuted on the property to ultimately make it one of the great mines on gold mountain richfield sun the copper butte people are feeling greatly encouraged this week over the development work now being prosecuted in that promising property william johnson and billy shelton were down from the mine on sunday bringing with them some elegant specimens of the copper bear 0 ing ore which has just been encountered in the incline shaft and in the foot tunnel these specimens at least some of them return assays essays amounting to io 40 per cent or more than per ton in copper the entire vein matter now being followed is a good milling and it constantly grows better with development it averages from four to seven feet in width the character of the ore is a high grade copper glance in which is found beautiful specimens of azurite mr johnson tells us that repairing the wagon road from belknap to the mine a dist nace of three miles will now be given attention so that cars rails and supplies can be easily hauled to io the mine from the rali road it is the to install cars and track in the tunnel at the earliest possible moment work will continue right along in the copper butte in the meantime and nobody is going to be surprised if during the coming summer this much talked about property suddenly becomes one of the bonanza mines in the gold mountain district |
