present time the mill has been shut down for the holiday week to allow some repairs and put in condition for next years run which is confidently expected will be something that will make a new record in the history of gold mountain affairs richfield reaper james long manager of the gold mountain consolidated com banys properties on gold mountain was down from the camp a couple of weeks ago on business for the company he reported to the reaper that having made satisfactory demonstrations in the upper workings active operations have been taken up once more in the milin main tunnel below the companas comp anys buildings this tunnel is being run to tap the big ore leads established above at depth and at a level where the ores can be more conveniently concentrated at one point and economically milled the tunnel is now in over 1000 feet and it should not require much more driving to enter the ore zone st george advocate mr hanchett head expert for samuel newhouse has been projected enterprises materialize as we have reason to hope they will from the moving spirit behind them st george will enjoy a boom to put its sister towns in the shade and bring an era of prosperity to the entire dixie country bingham bulletin perhaps the most important of recent strikes was the opening of a body of copper bearing porphyry on the ada grace claim of the tom moore group heretofore it was not known that the famous porphyry dyke extended so far south and this discovery may be the means of 0 opening up tip many other properties and further the development of this famous deposit the tom moore promoters are over this strike and after the first of the arthey hearthey ye are going to materially increase their present force of workmen to develop this most promising group of claims they have been busy the past few months getting the property into shape the lower tunnel has been timbered where necessary new track laid and a new car Is ia on the road and the tom moore will be the scene of extensive operations early in january A permanent water supply has been developed in a shaft on the no 2 claim and everything is in readiness to push developments the promoters expect to be on the list of bing hams big mines before 1907 closes richfield reaper A J sargent while down from marysvale Marys vale saturday took occasion to say that a more hopeful feeling prevailed at that place in regard to the mining outlook for next year than has existed at any time this year the resumption of activities on an active scale at the gold development company properties with the new discoveries and progress of development work on others has materially improved the situation mr sargent stated that the old bully boy and webster is making a showing that promises to rank with its former record the sub leasers leaders are taking out some nice ore one carload is ready 0 for shipment which ave averages fages ounces of silver 50 per cent lead and a half ounce of gold this comes from a new opening to the west of the old shaft which yielded such good paying stuff in years gone by it is proposed a little later to resume work in the long tunnel which has been abandoned for some years and make another effort to strike the valuable ore deposits at this great depth such a strike would be one of the most important tha could happen to the marysvale Marys vale section of gold mountain park record billy obrien charlie read judge king and other magnates of the uintah treasure hill were in the park thursday and spent the day examining the property they were elated with the extraordinary tra showing of rich ore in the bottom of the and decided to at once put men to work and prosecute development as fast as money and experience will permit the company has acquired nineteen clai claims nig including the typo and kentucky making twenty claims now in the corporation of as good mineral bearing ground as there is in the camp this gives the company continuous feet from the claim they are now working to the creole and they have rich ore on both ends of the group there is no reason why one of the biggest mines in the camp should not be opened up by the company and the way the stock is advancing it is evident that it is the general opinion that such will be the case there are already some fifty or sixty tons of high grade ore awaiting shipment and this will be marketed next week wm Pe Per riego lego james B allen alien and earnest fisher went down to salt lake yesterday after attend a directors meeting to be held today at which officers will be elected a
