Show THE SEVIER MILL AND MINE richfield reaper captain H C lawrence who was in richfield last week gave the reaper some interest interesting ng information concerning the latest deve developments lop ments atthe at the sevier mine the mill was started up tuesday of last week for the test run and she behaved nicely A new erie engine has been installed for the operation of the mill and it furnished all the necessary power and 75 horse power to spare the engine can slip every belt in the mill one of the most gratifying pieces of work finished lately is the completion of the upraise from no 3 to no 2 tunnel the lines did not miss the connection overa over a foot the more the property is developed the more astonishing becomes the vast extent of its body of ore the vein all the way between the two lower tunnels is at least feet in width at any place the largest vein I 1 have seen in my forty years of mining life said mr lawrence much of this ore will go from 75 to 80 pe per r ton while some of it will run up into thousands A carload was shipped d some time ago that went to the ton one of the most important undertakings for the development of the mine has been inaugurated the tunnel has been started 1500 feet be ow the mill this will give a depth of ledge matter as now determined of over 1200 feet and running back into the mountain under tip top at least a mile when this is opened up it will be one of the bagges biggest propos proposition known already at a distance of feet in the new tunnel ore matter is beginning to come in fissures paralleling all eling the veins the last taken out was I 1 filled with rich looking quartz captain lawrence is satisfied from the latest development on the property that the big ore bodies lie to the east of the present workings and crosscutting to thelast the east from the present tunnels has been begun to ascertain the extent of the ore zone in this property if nothing further is revea ed than what we already have in sight the sevier is the greatest mining propos proposition I 1 was ever acquainted quain ted with but I 1 have every reason to believe lieve that still greater bodies of ore and richer values lie yet uncovered I 1 arn am most happily pleased with this property it is a certainly a wonder just wait until beget we get to operating the mill regularly and finish our crosscutting cross cutting work and get our no 4 t tunnel well under way we will certainly show the mining world something beyond conception |
