Show IDAHO mackay telegraph dr J D woods and E L davis bought the entire interest of gifford harris in the boulder mining and milling company weiser signal the P 1 I N railway is doing all it can to encourage the opening of our mines and has just reduced iced the ore rate from council to weiser to per ton which is one half the old rate this will be of great benefit to any who wish to make test shipments of ore this season weiser world J C rogers left this morning for the seven devils mines where he goes to meet a representative of a proposed smelting smelling sm elting company who are figuring on putting in a naw new smelter near iron dyke and who are also figuring on purchasing ln the ore holdings of mr rogers and others othera silver city nugget connors s evans and hogan are taking supplies up today to thel their fourth of july group of claims on the boul der summit of war eagle preparatory atory to beginning work and they say that before the anniversary of their location they will make a showing up there worth climbing tho the mountain to look at mountain home herald W D reynolds returned sunday evening from a trip to his mining claims on skelton creek he reports considerable snow even yet on the lower part of the creek and owing to to Us its great depth people are unable to get to the mccabe nelson discovery mines A great many prospectors are camping along the south boise river awaiting the disappearance of the snow before starting for the high mountains A dispatch from orofino says last week D E cloud found a nugget of gold worth in the river bank between orofino and ahsahka and many prospectors are searching the ground for more the nugget was exposed by the erosion of the bank during high water the hills bear many traces of gold and several quartz claims were located a year or two ago by C E jones and others of spokane who abandoned them boise statesman geor george geore e W bredehoft president of the daisy mining milling company left this morning on a business trip to his home at danville ill he will return to boise the first of the coming month he said he had no report to give out on the daisy other than the mill was kept busy reducing ore and everything was in very satisfactory condition captain williams foreman will have full charge of the mine and mill during mr Brede hofts absence silver city nugget walter cook and ed caveney have been gleaning and assorting the old war eagle mine dump and have contracted for having tons more of it worked at the addie mill this old dump was made a good many years ago when the mine was producing rich ore and when the cost of hauling and milling was fully six times as much as at present and a great deal of ore which would pay now went over with the waste the men probably have found a good paying proposition worth stick ing to mt home herald J A white teamster made a valuable discovery while hauling freight to lime creek a short time ago he camped near castle rocks and the next morning while driving up his horses to proceed on his journey his al attention was attracted to a ledge of rock that seemed 11 good to him he broke off a few pieces of the rock had it assayed and to his surprise it yielded at the rate of 30 in gold 6 and a good sum in silver per ton since he has foli followed owed the ledge about alf jeet feet into mountain side and he is now tR vinced that he has discovered what will I 1 kye ve a bonanza the ledge is four feet e and has well defined walls boise statesman col G W E dorsey s kept busy yesterday getting ready to rt out to pearl earl with supplies he will out there today to begin work on the six ups of claims recently secured by the art ri gold mining company colonel dorr is president of the company and will dee much time to looking arter after the work he planned the amount of work to he be I 1 ne e on each group he said would be detained ined by the showing that might be sered if a vein opened up well and car led good ore it would be followed and de sloped loped into a mine colonel dorsey will bably spend most of the summer here oking ing after the development of the prop t ty Y |
