Show DEEP MEET on friday evening dec ath about sev enty five gentlemen interested in the mines of the deep creek country tooele thoele county utah met in one of the rooms of the commercial club and after appointing hon john dern president and J P gardner secretary proceeded to discuss matters pertaining to the welfare of the great deep creek country A very interesting and instructive tive address was delivered by marcus E jones A al in which he touched upon the mineral wealth topography and possibilities bili ties of the large number of mining camps embraced in the region to which the name of deep creek has long been applied after some discussion arrangements were made for the issuance of a 64 page pamphlet descriptive of the resources and possibilities of the deep creek country the text to be prepared by professor jones to further this project a committee composed of wilbur babcock J P gardner and G L moats was appointed whose chief duties will be the raising of funds to defray the expenses of the proposed publication mr babcock the father of the proposition subscribed G L moats of the four metals mining company announced his willingness to put into the enterprise J P gardner the popular clothier clo clothier and mining operator increased the list by the addition of and more if wanted while it is believed that no difficulty will be found in raising from 1000 to 1500 for the purpose stated defore before the adjournment of the meeting it was proposed to organize a permanent deep creek association with mr dern as president and mr gardner as secretary this was crystallized into the shape of a motion to this effect and almost unanimously carried to prepare articles of association a committee composed of T E bird H B windsor and george crismon was appointed it is the purpose of the association to meet monthly and it is believed and hoped that its deliberations will have a beneficial eff effect act upon the future of the deep creek country |
