Show COLORADO CO BUYING TUNGSTEN PROPERTY OF NEVADA CONCERN the tungsten mine and mill of the pacific smelting smelling Sm elting metals corporation at nightingale near the south end of winnemucca lake in the southwest corner of Pre freshing coun county a and nd several other properties in the district co covering vering practically all of the known deposits are to pass to the ownership owned of the tungsten production company of boulder coia colorado i if deals that have been agreed upon are bonsu consummated reports the nevada mining Z press of the ath the properties s have been examined by corge E collins mining engineer and inspected by J G dark clark president and general mana manager t ge r who took over the options and signed the contract for the t h e purchase of the pacific smelting smelling Sm elting metals property deposits of tungsten in the nightingale dis district trist occur oc cur in the form of scheelite in and quartz in limestone and are said to be of great extent the pacific smelting smelling Sm elting metals corporation was organized by L A friedman of lovelock and financed by wealthy reside residents of hono honolulu lul the property was equipped with a ton concentrating rafi g mill and power plant which operated for a while but un unsuccessfully suc cess fully in the spring of 1925 W A shockley reno banker was appointed receiver and employed fred J siebert of reno as consulting engineer under the direction of siebert J 0 greenan was made general superintendent the mill was overhauled and some changes made and the plant was operated for about three months on developed ore the tungsten production company is said to have tendered for this property conditional upon title being given through foreclosure by the bondholders bond holders it is understood that attorneys for the company will start these proceedings within a week according to reports the tun sten production company plans to make an entire change in the process employed and will install new machinery in ih the mill the property consists of acres of patented land acres of which were purchased from the central pacific railroad and valuable water rights other properties included in the deal are two groups of claims owned by and pratt and the post and force smoot and dingle and anderson properties altogether comprising an additional acres these properties have been diligently developed by the owners who have stuck through all the vicissitudes of the district and are said to show scheelite deposits of good grade credit for interesting the tungsten production company in the district is accorded vie vic A who has been indefatigable in his efforts to attract capital to the nightingale country and to develop the properties in which he is interested |
