Show THE WILBERTS REPORT harry S knight in a report to stockholders of the wilbert mining company operating in the dome district lelii lemhi county idaho covering the period from july to may 1914 says 1 I beg to submit herewith the following report of the operations of the company since july 1 1913 the last six months of the year of 1913 was the most prosperous period the company has had but this was stopped by the drop in the price of lead december I 1 which caused your company to discontinue the t 11 e production of ore january 1914 since that time a small force of miners have been employed on development work at an ail expenditure of about 2500 per month during the period july 1 1913 to january 15 1914 tons of ore were mined of this tonnage 1027 tons came from the surface I 1 quarry near the caved caa fl tunnel the balance of the tonnage carne cai from the ore shoot opened up by the north no drift from the no 3 tunnel during february and march 1913 with the exception of I 1 about 1500 tons which came from froin the uld d s channel on the lower intermediate level i and which joins the ore shoot just referred to about seventy feet above no 3 level the in this ore shoot above no 3 level has been designated no 2 he cost of extracting this ore and delivering it to the mill has been or 13 1 3 per ton the financial statement shows total mine operating costs of but this includes both the extraction costs and the development costs while it can not be accurately estimated it is probably safe to say that we have tons of ore left in the old stop no 2 and the quarry workings ali ah of which is readily accessible sufficient drifting has not yet been done on no I 1 level to prove the full extent of the at that point but if this dimension down to that point should prove to be as good as above the no 3 level there should be tons of ore in this shoot between the no 3 and no 4 levels by the 01 0 july we should know whether or not tim extends down an additional feet nevertheless on account of the establishment of the new between no 3 and no 4 leves levels the mine is now in shape to furnish the mill with a larger tonnage than it has ever been able to do in the past and this will allow us to operate the mill 22 hours per day to which time we will be limited on account of our water supply during the period of this report the mill treated all the ore that was mined viz tons and which had an average assay value of per cent lead and gozs silver the mill was in operation just days out of an average of 1714 working hours per day from this time an average of hours per day was lost for general repairs resli re shelling elling and v ing rolls re lining hardinge mill etc giving a mill operating efficiency of practically 90 per cent there was produced tons of concentrates and pickings having an average assay value of per cent lead and gozs silver per ton thus yielding in metals pounds of lead and ounces silver from this it will be seen that for the period the mill anle m of i an average recovery of per cent the lead contents and per cent of the si silver iver contents of yo YOU on account of the distance property from the railroad and the low 1 I ver values in the ore it does not seem wise to operate your property and exhaust its ore reserves when lead is selling below i per pounds and thus only realize holeve weve if Ho small ores very profit on your the development of the ore bodies should be continued so that a large production can be maintained when a fair price is tt U be obtained for the metals |
