Show RAWHIDE LOOKING UP renewed activity indicates a rejuvenation of the camp times yerington nev from a visitor from rawhide the times gathered a the following news regarding the old camp this week and it would indicate that the most talked of camp in nevada some ome years ago t is going to make good to in an extent at least at the present time there are sixteen owners and leasers leaders working on their respective spec tive properties and quite a number of men are emi employed loyed the coalition queen company has just installed an up to date cyanide plant to operate in conjunction with its mill and the plant is doing fine work the mill is now i mining on ore from a lease on coalition ground owned by hard and grose and they have several hundred tons of ore to run through which will average fully 20 per ton on the miller lease operated by jack meaker and associates a run of 68 tons of ore just finished gave returns of or a little better than 32 per ton th s ore was run in the national mill and the bullion shipped to selby co of san francisco this mill is now owned by the black eagle co and has been recently remodeled repaired and fixed up so that it is doing doing good work in saving the values in the ores in the camp A strike of some importance was made on oil the royal coachman property about two miles west of the town of rawhide recently cent and the owners are sacking ore from the surface that will go per ton the discovery was made while the owners were doing the annual assessment work vork trenching drenching Tren ching work was what brought the ledge to view W B wedell of ogden utah started u up 1 the rawhide phoenix on the ad dinst he has several hundred tons of good milling ore in the slopes of this property and the ere cre bins on oil the surface and is making arrangements range ments to have a mill run made at once cal started work on oil his lease on oil the santa ana rawhide on oil the of june and has two shifts employed there is a shaft feet deep on oil this property and it is being dropped down another feet and then will be crosscut the ledge fills the shaft and the ore pans well showing a fair fail grade of milling ore on the mascot on grutt and baloon hills ed orr is taking out ore from a 41 foot ledge that will average better than 20 to the ton he is also sorting up high grade from bun bunches clies found in the ledge that run as high as 1000 and 1500 per ton this ore runs about 60 per cent silver and the balance gold several small shipments of it il have bien been made in the past but mr orr is now arranging to make a run of the ore irom from the entire ledge at the coalition mill frank red is operating the morningstar aad all has a shipment of tons out for a mill run this ore is expected to all in the neighborhood 0 of f 30 or 35 per ton the ground joins ions the queen and is owned by C A mcleod hicl eod and the brutts at the big four on rawhide condoll consolidated ground fred davis and herman romer or are sacking high grade on the surface the ore shows free gold plentifully a and nd some of the assays essays run as high asi as per ton this property is just below the murry aur lease E L riggs and albert boyard are arranging to start work on the old jail lease just back of the main alain street of rawhide there are some promising showings on this ground john wright recently made a promising strike on oil ground adjoining the rector at regent and is preparing to do a atle 1 de ve loping to see what may result the black eagle out regent way about two miles west of rawhide has several men inen employed at the present time on the foot level of this property the ledge is opened up for a distance of feet both north and south of the shaft on this level the ledge varies from four to eleven feet in width hand and the ore averages from 15 to 20 per ton in values on oil the foot level this same ledge has been encountered and averages ten feet in width while the valus values in the ore have increased to about 30 per ton in the early days of the camp several thousand tons of ore were taken from the foot level that averaged 25 per ton preparations are now being made to start a crosscut on the foot level there is some water at this depth but not enough to necessitate pumping this company which recently acquired the national mill is having six new tanks put in the cyanide plant this will make fourteen tanks in the plant all told mr air green who has been superintending super intending the remodeling of the mm mill 1 and the construction of the cyanide plant has done a thorough gli job and the plant now makes a saving of fully 90 per cent in the values of the ore treated in all probability the mill will soon be enlarged and a concentrating plant added this thi Is the property which it is reported george wingfield recently became interested in |
