Show international IN GOOD SHAPE boston news letter we ave understand that the international smelting smelling Sm elting refining co has experienced a very good year during 1911 and that the company will show earnings at least equal if not somewhat in excess of those of 1910 preliminary figures indicate total earnings will be at least which after allowing for depreciation would leave a net profit of more than during 1911 business has been about the same as that of 1910 with probably a slight increase the companas comp anys principal income is derived from the raritan copper works the production from this plant it is estimated will amount to in the neighborhood of lbs its compared with a figure approximately lbs ibs in 1910 at the works good progress has been made on the enlarging of the copper refinery the plant is being increased from its original capacity of lbs ibs of copper per month to 31 lbs ibs lbs ibs or to an ultimate c capacity of lbs ibs of copper per annum in addition to this the company contemplates the erection of a lead refinery for which plans are now being made in the spring of 1911 the international smelting smelling Sm elting refining co decided to enter a lead smelting smelling sm elting business and the erection of two furnaces of tons each were begun at the tooele thoele plant owing to the numerous contracts which were made last summer it was decided to add a third furnace giving to this plant a total capacity of tons a day excellent progress has been made on this new construction and it is expected that two furnaces will be blown in shortly after the first of the year the company has been fortunate in securing lead contracts for the entire capacity of this plant 1 during the year good results w wre e re obtained at the copper smelter at tooele thoele utah and considerable custom business was handled and new contracts booked the plant is at present treating tons of copper ore per day the ultimate capacity is 1200 tons net earnings for the international smelting smelling Sm elting refining co of more than 1 represent over 10 per cent on the outstanding capital stock the company ie on an 8 per cent dividend basis per annum dividends calling for disbursements of |
