Show PRINCE CON RAILROAD 4 record pioche nev at last there is visible evidence that the much heralded railroad to the prince consolidated mine will be built the railroad engineers are here and within a few days several contractors will reach camp to bid on the grading and track laying with the understanding that the proposed road is to be built without the least possible delay and that the line must be ready for operation not later than may 1 1912 the road is to be built by the prince consolidated soli dated mining company and the estimated cost ranges from to the length of the line will be nine miles is to be sta standard lidard and laid with 80 pound steel rails over a grade that will average 2 per cent to the mile while the road will be ostensibly an erf enterprise ter prise of the prince consolidated company it will eventually become the property of the san pedro los angeles salt lake railroad company for it is understood that the mining company will in time get back the money paid out for construction in the shape of credits on ore shipments from the prince mine the construction of the road will be under the direction of mr T J bivins who is to be engineer engine er in charge mr divins bivins has had wide experience in railroad construction work and has just come from the bingham garfield road recently completed an anal d which was built by the utah copper company mr bivins reached camp thursday accompanied compa nied by murray C godbe secretary of the prince consolidated company and immediately engaged roms boms in the pioche water companas comp anys building adjacent to the record office which will be the headquarters for the engineering force while the road is in process of construction mr bivins staff of engineers will arrive this morning and they will be in the field this afternoon A contract was made with E E fuller of the 10 10 fuller lumber company for five thousand survey stakes and the sticks are now ready for delivery |
