Show A ADAMSON D AMSON GETS HIS REWARD finally succeeds in getting pay ore in old winnemucca bonanza the many salt lake friends of IV G adamson of winnemucca nevada who was formerly a resident of this city will be pleased to learn that he has finally met with gratifying success after having devoted several years in the resurrection of an old bonanza proposition in the near neighborhood of winnemucca this property is owned by the intermountain metal mining company of which mr adamson is manager in speaking of the successful development of this property the star of winnemucca says by persistent and aggressive development work the property of the intermountain metal mining company situated on winnemucca mountain is now at the producing stage and shipping ore is now being piled on the dumps for shipment this transformation of the property from the prospecting stage to a producing mine was accomplished through the indefatigable efforts of superintendent superintendents G adamson and eastern associates who have expended large sum of money developing this property the principal work accomplished was the sinking of a foot double compartment shaft and the running of drifts at the different levels in doing this great amount amount of development work the company has met with many difficulties and hardships especially in sending the shaft down to depth the principal obstacle being the large volume of water which had to be handled this however has been overcome by the aid of expensive machinery and now the lead is being opened at the foot level in extending this level the vein was found at a distance of feet in a southeasterly direction from the shaft and since its disclosure two shoots are being opened that are producing a considerable tonnage of ore upraises Up raises have been made at two different places in the drift and with the that has been accomplished the vein shows a width of about three feet and the ore which is being extracted assays essays from 20 to to the ton with values in gold silver and lead the opening of this ore at this depth is very significant as it gives feet of backs extending at least 1500 feet in length this fact has been proven by the upper workings of the property where the ledge has been opened up for this length adamson states that this late development with that already accomplished complis hed on the 40 0 foot level has proved a lateral fault almost on a horizontal plane disconnecting the vein on its dip at least eighteen feet the extent of the fault has been proved by the work done on the foot level it is now a certainty that the contin continuation uati on of the crosscut cross cut on the foot level will intersect the vein and will give additional sloping ground above that level however at this depth it is expected that the ore will be in the sulphide form with very little alteration ale ration the ore now being extracted above the foot level is a carbonate chloride of oxidized ellar character acter the ore is of an extremely desirable character for the smelter judging from present conditions when the drifts and crosscuts cross cuts are extended the company will be in a position to make regular ore shipments to the smelter during the past sixty days since the water has been brought under control had the company been financially able to employ a larger force of men today shipments of ore from the property would be a regular thing where the upraises up raises are being made the vein is nearly three feet wide with the rich streak ranging from five to fifteen inches thick ore is now being piled on the dump and it is expected that a thirty five ton shipment will be made about the ath of november the property of the Inter intermountain moun tain metal mining company is an historic one of the corthern por northern thern nevada and has a prodie tion in bullion to its credit of about it was known in the early days as the pride of the mountain this mine was first opened in the early sixties and the ore it produced was hauled overland by freight teams to the coast and shipped to swansea wales for treatment as there were few reduction mill in the country at that time so it can be plainly seen that the ores taken from this old mine had to be extremely rich to stand this long haul and the expense of transporting across the atlantic in later years and along about 1873 considerable sid erable work was done on the property and the many openings show that ore was extracted along the vein for 2000 feet and to a depth of about feet where the water level was reached since that time the property has been worked intermittently and the ores reduced in mills here the rejuvenation of the property wac was a gigantic undertaking and mr adamson deserves great credit for what he has done from the start he has always had great faith in the property and it is gratifying to note that his theory and opinions have proven correct and the property is now ready to again give up its gold and silver wealth |
