Show BUNKER HILL SULLIVAN big lead proposition now a regular and paying shipper mining record ely nev on tuesday last a representative of the record in company with colonel robert neill president and manager visited the bunker hill sullivan mine of the bunker hill sullivan property about thirty five miles north of ely and four and a half miles west of the track of the nevada northern railroad which has recently put in a siding in order to accommodate the company in shipping its ores to the smelters shelters sm elters at salt lake the writer visited the property about six months ago and at that time the working shaft had reached a depth of 85 feet which has since been continued down to a depth of feet and is bottomed in ore that will make a general average of 50 per cent lead carrying silver values of 8 ounces the face of the drift is now in almost solid ore of high grade from which the ore for shipment is being taken there is nothing now coming from this drift which will average less than 10 to 20 per cent the high grade is assorted for shipping the balance going over the dump of which there is now about 2000 tons that careful sampling shows to contain a general value of 10 per cent which would be considered a good lead mine in any country work was commenced on this property about a year and a half ago and has been continued steadily ever since that time it can truthfully be said that the property has improved with development and if there ever was a probability in regard to its future as a mine that time has happily long since passed from now on there can be no question but that the shipments of high grade ore taken out in development work only will pay the running expenses of the property each car shipment will return net values of at least 1000 and two cars can be shipped per month witha little the mine can easily furnish the necessary money for temporary equipment the great wealth of the property however is in the low grade ores averaging from 10 to 20 per cent which it is the plan of the management to concentrate at some near period in the future it is also the intent of the management to install a 15 horse power hoisting plant on the main working shaft within a few months after which the giant lead will be developed at 4 depth the bunker hill sullivan is certainly making a remarkably fine showing and its future is now so well assured that the price of treasury stock will soon be raised from 10 to 25 cents peri per share the company is now employing an average of ten miners a teamster and a cook and while present shipments will pay running expenses the directors of the company are of the opinion that it will he be more profitable to dispose of a sufficient amount of treasury stock to equip the mine for more rapid development and erect a concentrating plant rather than to await proceeds from the mine for that purpose with proper equipment and a concentrating plant there would seem to be no good reason why the property should not reach the dividend period by next fall |
