Show AYING COAL Carbon Comity Officials Believe Bull BullPens BullPens Pens Are Lre Special to The Herald Price Utah May 27 Yesterday the board of county commissioners were in ji session here all day the greater portion vf the time being spent in auditing bits bills in connection with the th coal miners strike and the expenses incidental to the main maintenance maintenance of the bullpen when the 1211 men were brought to Price from the halfway house above the town of Helper These expenses all told foot up less than 2000 the men who acted as guards or ot deputy sheriffs being paid by the Utah Fuel corn com company pany After all these expenses are paid there will be left leti in the general fund of the county something like with this years taxes yet to come in Carbon county it will thus be seen is perhaps better off financially than any other county in the state plate population consid considered considered ered In the matter of the creation of a new school district to be cut off the Price die dis district dietrict the petitioners and the trustees of Price district appeared before the board and came to an agreement whereby the Price board is to furnish a means of con conveyance conveyance to those children who live at remote distances The petitions were un on under onder der the circumstances and the conces concessions made by the Price trustees with withdrawn withdraWn drawn The board of commissioners are to meet on the first of June as a board of equalization ration The levy will be the same as last year 4 mills There will be no raise in taxation because of ot the coal miners strike and the large number of arrests and protection of property by the employ employment mont ment of numerous deputy sheriffs The county will have enough money In its treasury when the taxes come in this tell faiL to build a substantial court house in inthe Inthe the event the commissioners so decide |
