the city and partly to the county and to many private Salt Lake concerns will wilt be by vote of the electorate It is a matter that should bring out a larger vote than to Is I usual on such ques que Governor Spry has asked all employee of the state who can be spared to help and Mayor Maor Bransford has given similar Instructions to city employee Registry agents will be at the voting booths from 7 generally may be awake to the importance of the special election we take this opportunity of presenting to them the considerations which have led the legislature to make provision for the submission of the capitol question Utah has now enjoyed the distinction of ot statehood for lor a period of thirteen years during all of which time she has occupied the position of tenant to Salt Lake City and county and various arlous landlords of S Salt lt It Lake City With the assumption of oC the territorial debts and the then unknown needs of the new state In the matter of accommodations for state officers of tic en the constitutional convention deemed it pru pen prudent pendent dent to defer provision for a state capitol building until a date In the future when the needs of the state officers of statehood Those thirteen years have been years ears dt d prosperity for tor Utah and her people they have been years ears of growth activity and accomplishment With the growth of ot the state and the development of her resources there has naturally come an ing log volume of business for transaction by the officers of the state While thirteen years ago the afforded at the city and county building were ample today this building can not house many of the state tate officers and those who do find quarters there are In imperative need of more commodious accommodations for the expeditious transaction of business In addition to this the governments of oC Salt Lake City and county are each year eAr In need of ot additional rooms tn In the city and county building and the state must mast
