trying role Walter M I Sherwin is especially strong He has the double part of John the Baptist and Judas In both he is good To the former he gives a n dignity and beauty that Is most effective In the latter his portrayal of the con traitor is fearful tearful to wit witness witness witness ness It is a of acting Lil Ln lian Alexander carries the important parts of Elizabeth the mother of John and Mary Magdalene Her work is en entirely entirely entirely satisfactory This Is also true of ot R W V Emerson who takes the parts of f Andrew and C B Archer makes a good Herod and the minor parts are in good hands throughout The fa favorite of the entire cast with the audience last evening was J Harrison Taylor as Marius Marlus He Ho makes a superb young Ro Roman Roman Roman man soldier In appearance and his acting act acting actIng ing was up to the demands of the part parr L E Martelle as Caiaphas was also good The Holy City is well staged and the special music musE adds to the pleasure of the
