| Show SCHOOL CADETS VOTE TO STICK Despite Rain and Discomforts High School Boys Refuse to Break Camp WANT TO SEE FRIENDS CONDITIONS AT CAMP NOT UN UNHEALTHFUL UNHEALTHFUL HEALTHFUL Camp Ford Fisher June aft after after er reveille a pouring rain began and with but little intermission continued through the entire day dashing the hopes of the cadets encamped here At 6 p m in 12 Inches of precipitation had at camp The parade ground is isone isone one mass of water and all the streets are at least 4 inches deop with mud About half the tents were flooded out dUring the day and rendered unserviceable able Things began to look desperate when the storm continued past noon and Cap Captain tain Webb called a 8 meeting of the officers cern cers to discuss the advisability of break breaking breaking ing camp and taking the cadets home He laid the matter before them very veo plainly and asked for suggestions None 1 were in favor or of returning so 50 it was left I Ito to the men Each company voted and three of the four had unanimous votes otes in favor of sticking with it and remaining with Cap Captain tain tam Webb and the officers to the last da day The fourth company had two votes only in favor faor of breaking camp Ac Accordingly Accordingly cordingly the tents which were flooded Were moved to dry ground and are now comfortably located Message F From om Czar Soon after the men had taken this stand standa a message was as received from Professor George A Eaton the czar complimenting the cadets on their grit and in informing informing forming them that he had secured stoves for their tents which have just arrived His mess message ge was Boys I am with you ou heart and soul Stay with it I have secured stoves and I will send them tonight Will be with I you vou myself tomorrow Capt Captain in Webb and the officers are Working hard to see that aU all the cadets are comfortable They have even sacrificed sacrificed their own bedding to the men This morning while the men were eat eating eating ing breakfast the officers pitched several flies in the center of which the they built builta a large bonfire The only thing discouraging to the boys bos bosis is the fact that few of their friends have been out to visit them Sisters brothers sweethearts sweetheart friends wake up and pay us a visit is their appeal |
