Even should they stick together to a man, the democratic majority would be only throe; but the conciliatory course ol Mr. Hayes is in a fair way of winning over to the ad ministration some of tho moderate' southerners, in which event the only hopo ot tho democrats would be to induce in-duce some of the radical republicans to work with them in order to vent their spleen at Hayes and his peace policy. There is disaffection in the ranks of both parties, and oach is producing its administration and anti-administration anti-administration factions. |
