Tho supreme court, yesterday, decided in favor of the validity of tho Potter law of Wisconsin, Wis-consin, which is to the effect that the states have the right to fix the minimum mini-mum rate oi clurge made by railroad companies for freight or passenger transportation through thoir limits until congress acts concerning the relations of inter-atate commerce. Ine stato may, therefore, regulate fares so far as they are of domeslic concern. Similar decisions were mado in the case of Iowa, and in other cases. |
