Show THE TERRITORIES. Cheyenne pioposes a remarkable Centennial celebration. Several incendiary fires have recently re-cently occurred at Denver. Secretary Callaway of Montana, is abusing the privileges of his olhce by charging exorbitant and illegal fees, and the press demands bis removal. There are four lodges of colored Masons in Colorado, and a grai.d lodge of ditto has been organized. These lodges are, however, looked upon as "crooked" by the white Masons. At the Sedalia (Col.) Centennial celebration, "100" will be a pooular number. The table will be 100 feet long; the dancing platform the same length; 100 persons will sing the "Star Spangled Banner," and 100 trees iu tue grove will be decorated by day and illuminated at night. iVe feel justified in saying that in another year Unitfld States maila c.u be safely carried, by direct routes, from Bismarck to Boseman, in Montana Mon-tana territory, and to all parts of the Black Hills. The Sioux will soon cease to exist as organized figliling forces. Helena Independent. The present expedition of Gen. Cro k is the fourth invasion of the Big Horn country by military. General Gen-eral Connor was first, in 1SG5 and accomplished at least one irood thing, and that was the completo destruction of a village of hostile Clieyennes and Arapahoes. Next was the entry of General Carringtou, in 1S60, whicu left the Indians masters, of everyfield. General Crook's expedition of March ; last, was the third, and the present jouo completes the quartette. |
