The United States grand jury to-day reported in court the finding of four indictments against- George M, Pinney and ex-Pay ex-Pay Inspector Rufus C. Spalding lor. issuing fraudulent government certificates cer-tificates of iudebteduess. They are held to bail in $3,000 on each indictment. in-dictment. Pinney's divorced wife today has a long communication in the Bulletin reciting the means employed by Pin-noy Pin-noy to bend her to his wishes and interests in-terests since his return from exile. It is a most remarkable revelation of villainy and brutality. It contains one point of special interest, wuere she states that the alleged agreement produced by Pinney in evidence, according ac-cording to which Pinney left Borne $500,000 in charge of W. B. Carr to be devoted to liquidating Pinney's indebtedness to tue banks, was a sheer fraud, having been made up by Pinney aiuce his return and written out by hor at his dictation. She alleges that the suit she has commenced com-menced against Pinney and the presidents presi-dents of the Masonic and Savings and Loan banks will bring the whole matter to light. The United States district attorney has the case of United States Surveyor Sur-veyor Geueral Rollins under consideration, consid-eration, but no course has yet been decided upon. |
