Show The Nepal Horse Thieves. The two horse thieves from Nephi who were recently captured near St. George, having been returned to Juab county, on . Saturday, 13tb, bad au examination before A'tna Hague, J. P. The justice bound tnem over to await the action of tbe grand jury in bonds of $500 and $600. In default de-fault of bail, both were committed to prison. The fellows give their names as Allen and Hawkins, and they appear ap-pear to be a hard pair. It appears that on their trip aouth, after stealing the horses and saddles, they killed a pig on the Sevier, and carried the bams with them. The particulars of thfir capture, one ou tbe Clara, and tbe other in Leeds, have already been published in the Herald. They were brought to Nephi by Mangrum and Whit more, and had with them a blaak horse, white stripe in the face and bind feet white; branded C M or G M on the left thigh, and figure 2 on 'right thigh. Tbe animal is believed to have been stolen. . Tbe fellows appeur to be well acquainted ac-quainted with the country and Beem hardened wretches. When asked their names in the court they said they bad about fifty aliases aud hardly knew which to give. No one in the vicinity of Nephi Beeraa to know them or whence they came. One ia about six feet high, baa a very coarse, grufl voice, is red-headed, and is about 25 years of age. The other is a short, thick-set chap, dark complexion, and ia about 22 years old. |
