Misa Waltera visited the Methodist Episcopal church in Columbia on Sunday, and the Rev. Mr. Mcllvaine introduced her to a large congregation congrega-tion who had anticipated her coming. The Rev. Mr. Mcllvaine extended a special invitation to Misa Walters to relate the wooderlul manifestations manifesta-tions ol God in healing her body. Misa Walters then roae. She iB a person per-son below the average height, and appeara to be of a timid, shrinking nature, with a nappy lace ana winning manners. It muet have been a severe trial for her to address so large a meeting. She began in the most glowing language to relate her simple Christian experience, after which ahe briefly referred to the allliction, an affection of the spine, produced by injuries received in her youth, and which confined her to her couch for several yeara, and told how, in the twinkling of an eye, ahe was healed, ho that the following dar Bhe was enabled to attend prayer meeting. Miss Walters consulted with Dr. Washington Altee and other eminent surgeoBS, who, as a last resort, proposed pro-posed the application ol heated irons to the spine, and who will vouch for the terrible condition of the young lady belore the miraculous cure was wrought. |
