It is authoritatively stated that quite a large body ef men will assemble at this point for the ostensible purpose ot enticing Mexico to develop minea, etc., but the real objt is altogether different. G. M. MoaodoLode, mayor of the cily, appointed by Colonel Machor, publicly declared that he could drive every American out of the place. If an allempt is made to carry out this threat trouble will ensue. The absence of troops is greatly deplored. |
