Show Disastrous Fire in Odt-n. About 11 o'clock this morninc an alarm of fire was made, ami ' vrrv shortly it was discovered that ih. cause of the alarm proc.drd tn ni the bakery attached to the DeJ.i oid-co oid-co hotel, kept by Mr. John It. Czich-ert. Czich-ert. It has not been ascertained, eo tar as we have been advised, huw the fire originated,; but it is B-ippo-ed to have been accidental. But imie time elapsed before the Ogd. n fire bri;u!c, under the command ol Joshua Williams, Wil-liams, its active chief, was on the spot, and at once nr--ceedtd "in an energetic, though un-u.vussful attempt at-tempt tD check the spr.d ol the devouring de-vouring element. The fire was not put out until it had consumed several wooden buildings, a list 1.1 which we are able to present. As h known bv residents of Ogden, the Delmonico was situated near to, ami east of", the buildings occupied by th U. P. 'und C. P. railroad companies, as a temporary tem-porary depot for passengers, and hut tor a favorable conditio 1 of tne air currents at the time, there is but little doubt that this building, us well 1 as the eating house, ticket offices j and waiting-rooms would nave shared the fate of the Delmouiei.. We believe that the mnst of the personal property in the building? hurned was saved, though probably m a damaged condition, and it will probably pro-bably find its way in the hands of the owners, much to the disgust of a certain cer-tain class of light-fingered gentry, who generally find a sott thing at a fire, but who can operate much more advantageously when fires occur at night. The buildings destroyed ware: One small building owned by H. I. Keisel; one small office, owned by the W, U. telegraph company; the Delmonico, owned by J. B. Czachert; a p rtion of a building owned by A.Landt, besides a numoer of kitchens.ebeds and other out houses. We are unable to give the amount of loss at this fire, but suppose that it may not exceed $5,000. We understand under-stand that the property destroyed was lully insured through the agency '.f Messrs. Burn's & Smedley, of'Salt Lake city. ADDITIONAL PARTICULAR I1Y TELEGRAPH. TELE-GRAPH.
