Show Criminal Business. The grandjury came into courtyes-terday, courtyes-terday, and reported one indictment for violation of the laws of tbe United States. The attention of this body was mainly occupied during the day in tbe investigation of bigamy or polygamy cases, aud about twenty-five twenty-five witnesses were examined on matters pertaining to tbia subject. If rumor ia to be trusted, our mild and philanthropic district attorney has bi hands full of these oases and proposes to prove that he meant what he said attbe commencement of the empaneling empanel-ing of the grand jury that he expected ex-pected to bring before that body tbe cases of persons guilty of polygamy. Fred Stone, who was indicted for grand larceny, wus brought before the court and arraigned and plead guilty. Stone is the fellow, who, Borne months ago, broke into his employer's bouse on a Sunday afternoon and stole some money and clothes from bim and some watches, jewelry and clothes from Mr. R. B. Horn, and made ofl. He was captured a few days alter and has since been confined until hie arraignment ar-raignment yesterday. He begged the mercy of the court and his sentence was deferred until Saturday. Last night James Moray, indicted for murder, and Frank Scott, Edward JohnBon, and Frank Butler, indicted for grand larceny, were brought in from Coalville to be arraigned before the district court. It is expected they will plead on Saturday. |
