Show Brutal Child Beaters. Tbe case of Morris and the woman Salisbury, arrested for child-teating, was held yesterday. He waa discharged dis-charged and the woman fined $20. It was ordered that tbe child be left in charge of the lady making the complaint. com-plaint. As far as can be learned this is one of the moat brutal cases on record. re-cord. The child was examined by a physician who stated that it had been put to extreme oouiiy torture, wncrein nature was not allowed ber functions and tbe ohild swelled up and sufiered gret tortures in consequence. A cut , was found in tbe neck, which, from appearances, must have been made with a rope. Tbe female claimed that she waa the guilty party and thus taking the affair on ber Bboulders, was fined the $20, and Morris discharged dis-charged without any examination having been gone into. The witnesses, wit-nesses, who were on hand had the trial tacen place, declare tbat the man was the guilty individual and should not have been n"owed to escape. |
