Show Teachers' Institute. Instituto met pursuant to adjournment, adjourn-ment, at the Sth ward school house, on Saturday last, at 9 o'clock a. m., and found the majority of the pupils present and ready to receive the Salt Lake county corps of teachers. Mr. Leaver, the teacher of the school, commenced the exercise by class reading read-ing from the fourth reader to tablet tab-let drill, and all did well, and showed much interest in their work. Intellectual Intel-lectual arithmetic was then called, and the analysis wa? good and ideas clear. Two other classos were exor cised on the black board, and showed a fair knowledge of practical arithmetic arith-metic to fractional compound denominate denom-inate numbers. The exercises passed oil' pleasantly, and at eleven o'clock the school waa surrendered to the Institute, when Mr. Kesler, of the lGth ward school delivered a fine address. Subject, "Time." He brought much history to support him in his argument. In short, his addiess was practical and well appreciated by tho members of the school board of the ward and present. The bishop of tho ward belug present, pres-ent, in a pleasant way expressed him self highly pleased with the school, and was in favor of working with greater zeal fur the interest of the ward in this direction and said when the present house was too small he was in favor of buildini; another. an-other. He was followed by Isaac Brockbank, James Shelmerdiue, John Need haui and Mr. Wallace. These gentlemen of the school board seem to have the educational interests of the ward at heart. They acknowledged acknow-ledged that thoy had not visited the school for some time, but that they were happy to be present on this occasion, oc-casion, and congratulated tho institute on the success of its mission. President Maeser, by a vote, waived tho order of business, and called for tho report of secretary which was accepted and the committee called upon who presented tho following report re-port for next meeting: PROGRAMME. . Tiio instituto will moot at the 4th wiird school house, at 9 a.m., Saturday, Satur-day, March 13th, 1S75. Tho usual forenoon exercises will be conducted by Capt.
