Show 'Tbe Silver Boom, Chicago, 24. A meeting waj held this allernoon to organize a bimetallic bimetal-lic league, tbe object, as Btaled iu tbe oall, being to promote the speedy restoration of silver to its old position as among metals with rights of coinage the same as gold, and to dUseminate correct information on this subject. Ex-Mayor Mason presided. Tbe name of Bimetallic League of Chicago was adopted. Hon. C. B. Lawrence was elected president, John V. Far well first vice-presideut, with other vice-presidents vice-presidents including L, Z. Loiter, Potter, Palmer, J. K. Doolitlle, E. A. Storrs and Monroe Heatb; cecretift-y, George A. JackeoD; treasurer, Henry N. Nash; an executivo commitieee, beaded by Judge Henry Booth. This latter gentleman read a paper setting set-ting forth bis views on currency which was adopled as a platform. Judges Doolitlle and Miller, Colonel Daniels, and othsra made addresses and the meeting adjourned subject to call. Tne names connected with tbe matter are, as a rule, a guarantee of the Buccess of the organization. London, 25. A Berlin dispatch says tbe directors of the Imperial Bank ol Germany have paaaed resolutions resolu-tions declaring an increase of tbe fcilver coinage of Germany imperatively necessary. |
