The French taritl moreover prohibits tbe admission into Franca of cast iron, cotton goods and manufactured leather. He urged that in the French markets Ameiica is beaten by England, Eng-land, Belgium, Italy atid Germany, because ol the advantages oflered by their commercial Ireaties, England exporting 400.000,000 franca value I'rota 1857 to ISOti, aKainst 127,000,-000 127,000,-000 from 18-17 to 1856.
