Show City Council. Proceedings at the City Council on Tuesday evening, December 30, 1879, Mayor Little presiding: A pe'.ition, signed by Orson Rogers and thirteen other residents and taxpayers tax-payers of tho Eleventh Ward, was preeentsd, which asked that a certain walk on Third South Btreet, between Seventh and Eighth East streets, be repaired, as said walk was in a slippery slip-pery and unaale condition, and ao cut into by the old canal aa to render it extremely difficult of access, fic ferred to trie Btreet supervisor with instructions in-structions to make auoh repairs as will render the public thoroughfare passable. An appropriation of 3,000 waa made to the Salt Lake City and Jordan Jor-dan Canal to pay on account for the work of excaYition. The committee on fioanco wore Instructed In-structed to devise the beat meaoa for obtaining the neceaaary funds for prosecuting the work on the cana', and report at the next meeting. Adjourned to next Tuesday evening at the usual hour. I |
