Barton, my son, dated December 4th, 1879, stating that an exploring company had just got in from the other side of the Colorado River, he being one ol the party, and reported the route barely practicable, However, a vote was taken to push forward, but the writer thought it wo aid take several months to get' through. The eoot of building a road is variously estimated at from $7,000 to $25,000.
