Show Theatre. A very fair audience assembled at tbe theatre last evening to see "iho Knight of tbe Plains." Tbe scenery was very fine and ihe manner in which tbe piece was put ou the elage was exceptionally good. Mr. Cody, "Buffalo Bill," does not lay claim to being an actor, and some who attended at-tended were therefore disappointed. Parts of tbe acting in the pieoe was commendable, other portione no so praiseworthy. It pleased the gods, however, who applauded vociferously. The play is intensely sensational and will doubtless be appreciated by many on that account, but it has no plot and doea not afJord the best scope for good acting, even if there ware any who could fill good parte. The Indian war danceB by the Burgess brothers were very well oppreciated. There will be a matinee thia alter neon and a seconded performance to-night. |
