Show City Council. Meeting of the city council, Tuesday evening, July Dtb, 1878, Mayor Little presiding: A petition was received from a number of residents of the east bench, south of Emigration creek, setting forth that they had, some years ago, been granted a portion of the water from Emigration creek, of which, however, they are now deprived, de-prived, and asked that a decision heretofore made by a former water master be ratified or the matter in veatigated for action. Referred to tho committee on irrigation. The recommendations were adopted o far as set forth, and the committee instructed to continue their labors on iba subject until the matter is 'adjusted The committee on claima, to whom was relerred the report of the street supervisor, reported that they found the supervisor's acoiuot correct, and recommended that $1,658.36 be ap propria ted to cover labor expenses over and above bia appropriation for the three months ending AXay Slst. Report adopted and amount appropriated. appro-priated. j The committee on the city cemetery, ceme-tery, to whom was referred the sexton's sex-ton's report, recommended that tbe further sum of $200 be appropriated to carry on the improvements in tbe cemetery, as desired by tbe sexton. Adopted. On motion, action on the petition ( Wm. Ridd, asking for the opening of certain streets, was deferred lor one week, until a petition of remonstrance could be presented A bill of $1,129 60 from the gas company for furnishing gas and fix-lug fix-lug lamps for the city during the month of June, was allowed. Wm. R. AdkinB was allowed $58 lor labor on Union square. The ordinance in relation to the city sexton was then taken up and considered. The ordinance, after discussion, dis-cussion, was referred back to tbe com mittee on cemetery with instructions to confer with the city sexton. Adjourned for one week. |
